United States Virgin Islands currently doesn’t have nationwide licensing for cosmetic tattoo.

When setting up a business, you will need to comply with any local laws relating to business registration.

There may also be local regulations regarding health and safety when operating your business.

However, hair and other beauty services are regulated. There are number of training hours required to complete to earn a certificate and then get a license.

Beauty Services in United States Virgin Islands

Beauty professionals can get cosmetology or esthetics training depending on the services they want to offer. For esthetics, you need 600 hours of training. For nails, you need 500 hours of manicurist training. Necessary examinations follow, which you need to pass to get a license.

Hair Services in United States Virgin Islands

Hairdressers are required to complete a 1,500 training hours for cosmetology and then pass the examinations to get a license. Hair braiding needs 250 training hours.

  • Hair Cutting
  • Hair Coloring
  • Hair Extensions
  • Hair Treatments

Cosmetic Tattoo Services in United States Virgin Islands

There are currently no specific licensing requirements in United States Virgin Islands to provide cosmetic tattoo services such as:

  • Permanent Makeup (Nano Brows, Ombre Brows, Lip Blush / Tattoo, Eyeliner)
  • Microblading
As these services involve penetrating the skin, there may be local regulations pertaining to health and safety (for example, sterilization and disposal of needles) and the premises you operate from.
