Greece Hair & Beauty Regulations

Greece currently does not have nationwide licensing for some beauty services, such as lash and brow tinting & lash perming and cosmetic tattooing.

When setting up a business, you will need to comply with any local laws relating to business registration.

There may also be local regulations regarding health and safety when operating your business.

Below are the requirements for licensing hair and other beauty services.

Beauty Services in Greece

For beauty services that need licensing, you need to complete vocational training from a recognised school and pass the certification examination. You will then receive a vocational training diploma, which is what you need to practice legally.

These are the regulated beauty services:

  • Nail Technology / Nail Services
  • Face and Body Waxing
  • Manicure and Pedicure
  • Facials (including Skin Needling & Microdermabrasion)

Lash and brow tinting & lash perming don’t have strict licensing requirements, so you can get our courses for lashes and obtain skills fast.

Hair Services in Greece

Hairdressers must take a training program recognised by the state, and upon completion, you will get a vocational training diploma. You may then need to pass a certification exam and register with the necessary local authority to get your license.

Hair services are:

  • Hair Styling
  • Hair Cutting
  • Hair Coloring

Cosmetic Tattoo Services in Greece

There are currently no specific licensing requirements in Greece to provide cosmetic tattoo services such as:

  • Permanent Makeup (Nano Brows, Ombre Brows, Lip Blush / Tattoo, Eyeliner)

As these services involve penetrating the skin, there may be local regulations pertaining to health and safety (for example, sterilization and disposal of needles) and the premises you operate from.
